If one thinks of those leaders who made a distinctive impact, who changed their organizations, communities and the world for the better, who were ethical and value-centered, who made informed data-driven decisions, who saw things no one else could see, who solved problems few might risk addressing who not only managed but transformed, then one might ask, can this be taught? Is there a place to acquire these skills? Is there a place where leadership is cultivated, and where the sheer effectiveness of a collaborative approach is honed, refined, and understood deeply so as to be applied to the most challenging situations one might face? The master's in Transformative Leadership Program is a rigorous four-semester on-line program that unreservedly shows that the answer is yes.
The Center for Online Education understands online colleges have a dynamic future as new technologies and new uses for existing tools change the way we communicate, connect, and collaborate. In the coming years, virtual reality, blended program delivery, makerspaces, predictive learning platforms, gigabit Internet speeds, and other emerging technologies will push the limits of what was once thought possible at online colleges. Social media and networking sites will continue to impact online teaching and learning, providing a virtual space for authentic interaction, relationship building, and participation in professional communities. Our in-house team, and panel of contributors, are all graduates of accredited colleges and are here to help inform your online college journey.

To a certain degree, online degrees have had a persistent stigma—a reputation that they are not on-par with those earned on-campus. However, the tide seems to be shifting because non-profit colleges (both private and public) have created online programs that rival those traditional degrees. In fact, a recent study shows that 76 percent of academic leaders agree that degrees taught online are equal to their on-campus counterparts.

Schools featured in our rankings demonstrate a commitment to high-quality education for their students. Quality is measured and weighted through various data points that are specific to each ranking topic. Each methodology drives proprietary calculations, which are grounded in statistical information, and developed to recognize academically robust, affordable colleges and programs. Sponsored school listings are separate, paid advertisements and are clearly marked with a "SPONSORED" tag to distinguish them from editorially ranked schools. Our school rankings are editorially determined, independently vetted, and are not influenced by schools that pay for advertisements. For questions regarding our rankings or sponsored schools, please email us at contact@bestcolleges.com.
I understand that if I choose to share an email account and password with another person, that person will have access to my online counseling profile, which will contain my personal and academic information. By sharing an email account, I am authorizing that person's access to information, and in essence, giving them access to alter information about me in the online counseling program.
Compared to traditional in-person therapy, it can sometimes appear less expensive. Some apps will advertise pricing that provides unlimited use for a weekly or monthly fee. Or the online session may seem significantly lower than in-office visits. If you’re not interested in using health insurance for psychotherapy, this can be a benefit. More about insurance and online therapy is discussed in the next section.
UMKC is renowned for their high-quality online programs and is home to one of the top 20 online Graduate Nursing Programs in the country, as well as highly-ranked online Bachelor’s and Graduate Education programs (U.S. News & World Report). Second, make sure all target schools have been accredited by one of the six regional accrediting agencies and/or, if it's an online-only school, by the Distance Education and Training Council. Accreditation means potential colleges and its target programs have been thoroughly vetted by an independent higher education agency endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education (check out the best accredited online colleges of 2016). Finally, make sure you know exactly what you need from an online degree. The flexibility offered by many programs is great, but the curriculum, professors and resources should have the same quality as their campus counterparts. Don't be afraid to call up counselors and talk to current and former students.
In terms of confidentiality and privacy, it is important to look at practitioners who use encrypted video software. You may need to download the software they are using. This is typically an easy step, but it is an important one. Skype and FaceTime may seem like obvious, easy choices for video software, but they may not meet the HIPAA standards of privacy in your state and may not meet you or your therapist’s privacy and confidentiality standards.
Though many of these concerns are valid, they vary on a case to case basis. Some have suggested that human/face to face contact is the only way a therapist can truly identify the feelings and behavior of their client. This may be true in some instances over chat therapy, however video therapy eliminates this issue, which in turn eliminates many of the ‘limits of effectiveness’ claim as well. Moreover, people living in rural areas may have spotty Internet connection. There are also some who point to transmission and server problems, an issue we found very little evidence of in our research.
More psychologists are exploring online sites and apps just as more patients are interested in using them. Research does show that some technological tools can help when used in conjunction with in-office therapy. Many psychologists and patients are finding text messages helpful for quick check-ins or reminders. Some apps can help track and log moods or thoughts. Web-conferencing and streaming in real time can offer continuity when a patient is on vacation or not able to make a regular session. There are cases in which Web-conferencing or therapy via telephone does seem to be a viable option on its own for some people. But for now, with the current research and with the current technology, mobile apps and text messaging are best used as complementary to in-person psychotherapy.
Mississippi State University has created a history of excellence, and it all starts with their degree programs. Regardless of what students study, each degree is meant to give students all the resources they need to succeed throughout their life. The same philosophy is applied to their online program, often considered one of the best online colleges in the nation. Students can study online while learning from faculty who also teach on-campus courses, meaning the quality of the education is consistent from on-campus to online. Also, Mississippi State offers in-state tuition to all online students, not just residents of Mississippi. Degrees can be earned entirely online from start to finish for students all around the world.

Attending an online program has had distinct advantages. The most valuable benefit being that I am able to stay home more with my family. I have been able to listen to lectures and presentations at hours that do not conflict with family time. I have not missed important events or activities with my children due to being away for class. I have still been able to make memories with my family while going on vacation too. I have attended class in the car, in the airport, at the beach and even on a cruise ship! I have found an improved sense of self-reliance and direction attending courses online. I was anxious about being successful at first. It takes a great deal of self discipline to meet goals. I have gained both knowledge and confidence!

The online Hospitality Management Degree Program is an extension of the on-campus academic experience, sharing the same policies, faculty, and student activities. It is grounded in day-to-day teaching and leadership practice and is geared at individuals who have a need for higher education, for those who struggle to maintain a work-life balance while holding full-time jobs or who because of the dictates of their lives are unable to attend classes as a full-time student. The online degree will enable individuals to apply what they learn, as they learn, work with peers facing similar challenges and take away real-world solutions, inspiration, and the support of an engaged community. The program promotes active, team-based learning that supports collaboration and sharing. The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management is designed to produce individuals solidly grounded in business administration, with specific sensitivities and skills in application to the administration of hotels, restaurants and travel/tourism management entities. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) 1993. To that end, the vertical curriculum is a replica of the face to face program.

I believe there are more pros than cons relating to the experience of completing your degree online. I saw many positives throughout my life and within my coursework when I made the transition from traditional classes to online classes. The positives I have found when attending online school are having the chance to plan my week accordingly around my coursework as well as working at my own pace. Working at my own pace was the biggest positive factor for me when I made the transition as I was able to plan my work out as well as plan my life around the coursework for that week. It also gave me the chance to work at my own pace where I was not having test anxiety anymore when it came to big exams that are coming up.
A college degree is the best way to advance your career and increase your earning potential, but family, work, and where you live can make school feel out of reach. Online colleges, however, allow more people than ever before to earn a degree while balancing life's other responsibilities. These programs offer the academic quality and flexibility you need to get ahead. There have never been more or better choices for earning an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree online.

But on the kind of green, bouncy surface that Sri Lankan workhorse seam bowlers fantasize about, Lakmal had the ball darting connivingly in both directions, as he scythed through the opposition top four. Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera were constantly breaching the 140kph mark, but it was Lakmal – 10kph slower – who consistently beat the bat, and refused to relieve pressure. Bowling 12 overs on the trot, unchanged through the session, he collected figures of 4 for 18 – with only Ross Taylor from among New Zealand’s batsmen able to withstand his consistency long enough to get past ten runs.

Additional software has been developed in order to protect digital media. digital rights management (DRM) is used to digitally copyright material and allows users to use that media for specific cases. For example, DRM allows a movie producer to rent a movie at a lower price than selling the movie, restricting the movie rental license length, rather than only selling the movie at full price. Additionally, DRM can prevent unauthorized sharing or modification of media.
